Best Fits For Carter Bryant In The 2025 NBA Draft

March 27, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

Arizona Wildcats forward Carter Bryant has been rising up the draft boards steadily throughout the season despite his limited minutes early in his freshman year. Specifically, Bryant is an intriguing prospect due to his size at six-foot-eight, three-point shooting, and defensive skill. Not only that, but he can also handle the ball to a certain extent. Given his combination of skills, Bryant has the makings of being a talented 3-and-D wing at the NBA level. With 3-and-D wings being a coveted commodity, Bryant will certainly have interest among teams in the draft. Let’s dive into the teams with first-round picks in the 2025 NBA Draft that fit the best for Carter Bryant.

Best Fits For Carter Bryant In The 2025 NBA Draft

San Antonio Spurs

One of the best fits for Bryant in the draft is the San Antonio Spurs, who also need someone like him. Specifically, the Spurs need a tall wing defender and shooter on their roster. San Antonio lacks critical spacing around their stars in Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox. They can find someone who can space the floor in Bryant, who has shot well from beyond the arc. Unquestionably, Bryant will get plenty of open shots from either star. On the defensive end, the Spurs need another tall wing who can guard opposing forwards. While they do have Harrison Barnes, they need a long-term replacement for him.

Bryant will benefit from going to the Spurs in various ways. Firstly, Bryant will have the advantage of the Spurs developmental system, which has produced many solid players over the years. He does need to improve when playing on the ball, especially when going to the basket. That is something the Spurs can help with. Secondly, Bryant will get to play with stars who can allow him to play toward his strengths. While he can handle the ball, Bryant is much more effective off the ball.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Another team that Bryant will fit well on is the Minnesota Timberwolves. Similar to the Spurs, the Wolves need another 3-and-D wing who can guard multiple positions. Granted, Minnesota does have Jaden McDaniels, but he is the only big wing in their rotation. Bryant can serve as additional depth behind McDaniels. Plus, Bryant’s defensive ability will fit well in the Timberwolves defensive-oriented playstyle. On Bryant’s end, the amount of attention that Anthony Edwards draws will inevitably get Bryant plenty of open looks and scoring opportunities. Additionally, Bryant will have the benefit of learning from multiple defensive talents. Bryant clearly fits within Minnesota’s system and he will benefit both on and off the court.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder makes a perfect fit for Bryant and he fits exactly in the Thunder’s system. Specifically, Bryant has a combination of skills that fit within how the Thunder draft. He can handle the ball, pass, and shoot, which is what the Thunder want from their players. More importantly, Bryant will have all those skills in addition to his size at six-foot-eight. The Thunder do need more size on the perimeter and that’s something that Bryant can provide for them. Bryant will get many open shots from Oklahoma City’s stars and play in a system that will have a clearly defined role for him.
