The Timberwolves didn’t have a shortage of wild games this season. Let’s take a look at what the people voted for, as well as how they prefer the offseason to unfold.
It’s been just over a week since the Minnesota Timberwolves season ended. Before we finally bury the year that was had, let’s look to the 35 participants of Canis Pulsus on what the best times were.

4/27 — More Ant clutch heroics with 43 points vs LAL game 4; 116-113
The Wolves took perhaps the Los Angeles Lakers best punch in game four. 65 combined points from LeBron James. Trailing with under a minute and a half left in the game. Anthony Edwards went on an absolute tear to put Minnesota in a dominating 3-1 position in the series. All it took was surviving a relatively wide open Austin Reaves corner three-pointer.

11/1 — Wild comeback vs DEN down 10 with 3:36 left; 119-116
Minnesota started the season with an uninspiring 2-2 record. Beating up on the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors wasn’t quite cause for optimism. They had just lost a few days before at home to the team that eliminated them from the Western Conference Finals a season ago, the Dallas Mavericks. Now they hosted the powerhouse Denver Nuggets.
Rudy Gobert had gotten a technical for nearly socking Christian Braun in the face after he posterized the Frenchman. The four quarter deficit grew to as much as 10 with just 3:36 left. Then Nickeil Alexander-Walker strung together eight points. Anthony Edwards chipped in five straight before the final wild sequence to end the game.

4/30 — Rudy closes curtains on LAL game 5; 103-96
Perhaps the most unlikely hero donned his blue, white, and red cape to fly the Wolves past the Lakers in round one. Rudy Gobert had largely struggled to put together a decent stat line across the first four games of the series, but busted through the wall like the Kool-Aid man with a 27 point, 24 rebound night. He had one of his biggest critics, Shaquille O’Neal, calling him “Rudy-Abdul Jabbar.”

2/24 — Impossible 24-point 4th quarter comeback win vs OKC in OT; 131-128
What’s better than a dramatic historic comeback, down 25 points in the fourth quarter? How about when it’s led by your rookie trio against the best team in the NBA? We even got to see our star player close it out with a game-winning play on the defensive end. Fans got to see everything in this one.

4/1 — NAW clutch free throws lead to wild double OT win over DEN; 140-139
This had to have been one of the most wild regular season games in Timberwolves history. The only other one that comes to memory is 2018’s game 82 against, you guessed it, the Denver Nuggets. Minnesota survived a 16-point first quarter deficit as well as a 61-point triple double by last season’s MVP, Nikola Jokić.
At the end of it, you had one of the most unlikely last second comebacks ever by Mr. Gorilla Nuts.

Ant parading around streets of LA after round 1
This one hits home for me. I would’ve loved to have been in the streets of Los Angeles after the Wolves eliminated the Lakers, but alas I would’ve been too much of an emotional wreck. Plus, I would’ve surely gotten myself jumped. But watching the leader of the Wolves do it? That’s good enough for me.
Ant & Justin Jefferson crossover photoshoot
Tied for third most votes was the crossover remake of the Kevin Garnett and Randy Moss Sport magazine cover photo, this time featuring Anthony Edwards and Justin Jefferson. This had long been in the works, but the two finally made it come to life. The nostalgia factor for fans from the 2000’s was awesome.

Just in: Arbitrators have ruled Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez over Glen Taylor as the next majority ownership group of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Lore and Rodriguez told ESPN. The NBA’s Board of Governors now have to approve Lore and Rodriguez.

Glen Taylor losing arbitration to Marc Lore & Alex Rodriguez
Can the Timberwolves ever do anything normal? A simple “sale of a sports team” turned into a multi-year “mentoring process,” then devolved into year long arbitration case. As much as we want to say the Wolves will go as far as Ant takes them, the truth is that they’ll go as far as Tim Connelly allows for Ant to be on the team, henceforth however long Lore and ARod allow Connelly to commandeer the ship.

Joe Ingles starting when his son attends 1st full NBA game
This was the feel-good story of the season for the Timberwolves. There were hopes that the signing of Joe Ingles would be some sort of replacement for what Kyle Anderson’s role would be this year, but things didn’t work out that way. Instead, we got plenty of fun “Joe Ingles shenanigans” and by all accounts, lots of important meaningful mentorship and locker room presence. That’s why when his son, diagnosed with autism, was able to attend his first full NBA game that he got to play in, it was a big deal.
An important reminder that life is bigger than basketball.

What do you most hope the Timberwolves do this offseason with their roster?

Retain Naz Reid (PO/extension) (62.9%)
Naz Reid. The fan favorite unsurprisingly garnered the most fan support in terms of what they wanted the front office to priority this offseason. Conversely, letting Julius Randle received a high amount of votes. There was also a decent smattering of “Trade Rudy” as well.

What non-basketball issue do you most hope the Timberwolves do this offseason?

Make amends with KG (Jersey retirement next year) (61.8%)
One of the biggest name ever connected with the Minnesota Timberwolves still does not have their jersey in the rafters due to a unrelenting beef with the (now former) owner, Glen Taylor. Now that he is out of the picture, there is absolutely no reason why number 21 shouldn’t immediately be retired.
Meanwhile, nearly 30% are looking for new branding. Perhaps they should retire more than just KG’s jersey number.

How satisfied or dissatisfied were you with the final result of the 2024-2025 season?
Very satisfied (62.9%)
Aside from a single Neutral and Very dissatisfied vote, the other respondents were all satisfied with the season to some extent. There were not very many people who thought the Minnesota would repeat in their postseason journey before the season started, and certainly not midway through the season.

What are you most excited about during the offseason?
Free Agency (34.3%)
The summer of 2025 has been an important circle on the calendar for the Timberwolves and their fans for a while. This was always going to be the summer where they had to make some capital “D” Decisions. Will Naz Reid be back? How about Julius Randle? Is it a priority to get Nickeil Alexander-Walker back? Should they trade for a disgruntled future hall of famer?
The Minnesota Lynx and NBA draft also received 20% of votes. It should make for an entertaining few months, for sure.

My current feelings on the direction of the Timberwolves are…
Very optimistic (77.1%)
Again, there were two dissenting voters who didn’t like where the Wolves are going. That said, most of us continue to put our sunglasses on as we look at the bright, bright future of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
