Reeve was named Coach of the Month after leading Minnesota to a 9-3 record over the month of July. This award is her third such honor since the award’s inception in 2017.

One of the greatest coaches the game has ever seen continues to add to her long list of awards and accolades.

On Monday, the WNBA and Minnesota Lynx announced that Lynx President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Cheryl Reeve has been named the league’s Coach of the Month for July.

This most recent honor for Reeve marks the third time in her career she has received the monthly award, previously being named Coach of the Month in May of 2017 and June of 2024.

Over the month of July, Reeve led Minnesota to a league-best 9-3 record to keep the team atop the WNBA standings. The nine wins in July ties the second-most in Lynx history over the course of a month, with the Lynx also doing so in June of 2024 and July of 2014.

Highlighting the nine-win month was Reeve’s 350th win of her career that was earned July 16 in a win over the Phoenix Mercury, joining Mike Thibault as the second coach in WNBA history to reach that milestone. As a team, the Lynx also recorded win 500 on July 10 in a win over the Los Angeles Sparks, becoming the third franchise in league history along with Los Angeles and Connecticut to reach 500 victories as a franchise.

Ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Seattle Storm, Reeve has led Minnesota to a WNBA-best 24-5 record with a 5.5-game lead on the top spot in the standings. The Lynx lead the league in scoring (87.2 points per game), field goal percentage (47%), three-point percentage (36.7%), assists (24), blocks (5.2), offensive rating (110.1), defensive rating (95.1) and net rating (15.0).

Reeve and the Lynx wrap up a two-game road trip on Tuesday in Seattle before returning home to face the Washington Mystics on Friday at Target Center. Minnesota has 15 games left in the regular season, wrapping up the 44-game schedule on Sept. 11 in Minneapolis before jumping into the postseason.
