The Lynx star forward and the Timberwolves star guard were among the sports figures highlighted on the 2024 Forbes 30 under 30 North America list.

They’re not only known as stars and franchise cornerstones within the state of Minnesota, but Napheesa Collier and Anthony Edwards are now being recognized as stars of their age group throughout the country.

Collier, a fifth-year star forward for the Minnesota Lynx, and Edwards, a fourth-year star guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, are among the sports figures highlighted on the annual Forbes 30 under 30 North America list, announced Tuesday.

Collier returned to the court in 2023 after appearing in four games in 2022 after giving birth earlier that year. She not only returned to All-WNBA form, but excelled towards MVP level during a career year that resulted in her finishing fourth in the WNBA in scoring and seventh in rebounding while earning All-WNBA First Team honors and ending fourth in MVP voting.

Over 37 games in 2023, the 27-year-old averaged a career-high 21.5 points per game to go along with 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks while shooting 48.5% from the field and 29.8% from three. Collier also took over more of a leadership role in 2023, serving as the lone captain on the Lynx and becoming the official face of the franchise.

Along with her performance on the court, Forbes noted Collier’s involvement in helping launch Unrivaled, a new league that will begin in 2025 offering WNBA players an option to remain stateside rather than going to play overseas. Forbes also mentioned Collier’s involvement as an advisor for Overtime Select, a new league for high schoolers.

Edwards continues to go full steam towards stardom in the NBA, taking his game to another level in 2023-24 while leading the Wolves to one of their best starts in franchise history.

In 16 games so far this season, leading into Tuesday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Edwards has posted career-high marks of 26.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists to go along with 1.4 steals over 35.6 minutes per game. The 22-year-old has already earned himself NBA Western Conference Player of the Week honors while being recognized as one of the top shooting guards in the league by NBA GM’s before the season.

Not only is he taking things over on the court while on pace to another All-Star appearance and perhaps even into the MVP conversation, but Edwards has also taken the league over by storm with his personality, becoming a player that is a must-watch for any basketball fan on a nightly basis.

Forbes mentioned Edwards’ off-the-court appearance in an acting role in the Adam Sandler film “Hustle” in 2022, which foreshadowed a breakout year that included his first All-Star selection and leading Team USA in scoring during the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Forbes also highlighted Edwards’ release of his first signature shoe, the AE1, with Adidas.
