The Wolves Are Dogs Again? How to Take Advantage

The Timberwolves blew out the Lakers in Game 1 by 22 points. Apparently Vegas didn’t get the memo. Wolves fans can use a skewed moneyline to potentially cash in big on another Minnesota win.

Timberwolves/Lakers Game 2: Betting the Underdogs Who Just Blew the Doors Off Hollywood

Let’s just get something out of the way right now: Game 1 wasn’t a win. It was an exorcism. Minnesota didn’t just beat the Lakers—they walked into Crypto.com Arena, lit incense, muttered a few dark incantations, and banished the ghost of Showtime basketball from the building.

You’d think that after a 117–95 beatdown on national TV, where the Wolves shot 21-of-42 from three, outpaced L.A. like it was a “Fast & Furious” chase scene, and made Anthony Edwards look like a hybrid of Dwyane Wade and Jason Bourne, the betting public might wake up. But no. As of Sunday morning, the Wolves were +194 on the Game 2 moneyline. Let me say that again: The team that won by 22 points were getting almost 2-to-1 odds to do it again. What are we doing here?

This isn’t 2001. These aren’t your older cousin’s Wolves. This team isn’t just talented—they’re deep, versatile, and weirdly unfazed by the moment. And thanks to the way the world still treats the Timberwolves like they’re playing in the Target Center Rec League, there’s real betting value to be had here if you believe in the squad.

So let’s build some Same Game Parlays on FanDuel Sportsbook and see if we can turn all this mispriced disrespect into cold, sweet cash.

Naz Reid: The One-Man Microwave

Let’s start with Naz Reid, who did his best 2015 Steph Curry impression in Game 1, drilling 6 threes and torching L.A.’s nonexistent perimeter defense. He finished with 24 points, and more importantly, looked like a guy who remembered exactly how cold his shooting was in April and decided to set fire to the stat sheet just to make up for it.

✅ Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + Naz Reid 15+ Points

Odds: +464

$10 Bet = $46.40 Payout

This one isn’t asking Naz to go nuclear again. Just give us 15 points. A couple threes. A few bully-ball drives. It’s basically the “can you be yourself again?” parlay—and it pays out like a slot machine in a Vegas movie montage.

Jaden McDaniels: Stealth Weapon Mode

Let’s talk about Jaden McDaniels, who played Game 1 like a guy who heard all the pre-series talk about Austin Reaves and decided, “Cool story. I’ll be over here dropping 25 points on 85% shooting while also guarding Luka for stretches.”

✅ Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + Jaden McDaniels 15+ Points

Odds: +519

$10 Bet = $51.90 Payout

Want to spice it up? Jaden’s points came with four threes in Game 1. So…

✅ Bonus Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + McDaniels 15+ Points + 2+ Threes

Odds: +742

$10 Bet = $74.20 Payout

If he even sniffs the performance from Game 1, you’re golden. If he doesn’t? You still feel good knowing he’s one of the Wolves’ better shooters when Ant draws attention like he’s giving out free PS5s.

Combo Meal: Naz + Jaden + Victory

Okay, now we’re cooking.

✅ Mega Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + Naz Reid 15+ Points + Jaden McDaniels 15+ Points

Odds: +1404

$10 Bet = $140.40 Payout

This one’s not insane. Nas and Jaden combined for 48 points in Game 1, and neither needed Edwards to clear out the lane. The Lakers can’t double everyone, and JJ Redick has about 36 hours to figure out how to coach defense on a team that plays none.

Ant-Man Conservative Special

Maybe you don’t want to chase big payouts. Maybe you just want a nice, clean Ant night.

✅ Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + Edwards 20+ Points + 3+ Threes + 4+ Assists + 4+ Rebounds

Odds: +362

$10 Bet = $36.20 Payout

This is the “Anthony Edwards plays a balanced, mature game” package. No 40-point explosion needed—just a stat sheet that looks like he got an Grade B in every column. Honestly, he might hit this in three quarters again.

The Donte DiVincenzo All-Purpose Tool Parlay

Donte didn’t light it up from deep, but he did a little bit of everything in Game 1. If he just goes from “solid” to “slightly hot,” this becomes a steal.

✅ Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + DiVincenzo Over 16.5 PRA (Points + Rebounds + Assists)

Odds: +316

$10 Bet = $31.60 Payout

It’s the sneaky value pick. Dante doesn’t need to score 20. Just show up in all three columns and cash us out.

The Monster Swing: Dante + Jaden + Naz + Wolves Win

You want the home run? The “I just paid for my vacation” ticket?

✅ Parlay: Wolves Moneyline + Naz Reid 15+ Points + McDaniels 6+ Rebounds + DiVincenzo Over 16.5 PRA

Odds: +1916

$10 Bet = $191.60 Payout

It’s a big swing, sure. But look at the legs:

  • Naz is cooking.
  • Jaden crashes the glass and sneaks in for putbacks.
  • Dante does everything but sell popcorn.

And again: This all starts with the Wolves moneyline, which is sitting at nearly +200 despite a blowout win. That’s not a betting line. That’s an apology gift from Vegas.

The Final Word

Look, maybe the Wolves don’t shoot 50% from deep again. Maybe the refs show up in their best Tony Brothers cosplay. Maybe LeBron goes full John Wick. All of that is possible.

But the disrespect baked into these odds after what we just saw is staggering. The Wolves are bigger, deeper, faster, and better coached. And if they win Game 2? This series doesn’t go six. It might not even go five.

So, Wolves fans, if you believe in the pack—and based on Saturday night, you should—there’s money to be made. The public is backing L.A. like it’s 2009. Let them. We’ll be over here, betting Naz Reid like it’s the new crypto.

Let the odds keep doubting. The Wolves never needed their approval anyway.
