The Gopher junior looks to return to the NCAA Championships
Minnesota Golden Gophers junior Bella McCauley will try and earn her return ticket to the NCAA Championships for the third consecutive season when she tees off at the 2025 NCAA Columbus Regional on Monday at the Ohio State University Golf Course. McCauley is joined by 12 teams and five other individual qualifiers to determine who will advance to the 2025 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships.
The Inver Grove Heights native will look to earn her way to the NCAA Championships for a third-straight year. In 2023 as a freshman McCauley competed at the NCAA Westfield Regional and shot a three-round total of 209 (-7). She followed that up last season by finishing as runner up at the 2024 NCAA Auburn Regional with a score of 214 (-2). She would advance to the NCAA Championships in both seasons and finished in 77th plac in 2023 and 83rd place in 2024. Heading into the Columbus Regional, McCauley is ranked 63rd in the nation and has five top-10 finishes this season, including a win in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate last fall. She earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors this season.
McCauley will play in the 54 hole event with 18 holes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The top five teams and the top individual player not on one of the advancing five teams will earn their spot to the 2025 NCAA Championships held May 16–21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. McCauley will be competing against individual players from Youngstown State, Eastern Michigan, Harvard, Michigan, and Bradley.
