Walley goes #80 overall to the Colts
In what was a bit of a shocker Justin Walley became the second Minnesota Golden Gophers player to hear his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft when he was selected with the #80 overall pick in the third round by the Indianapolis Colts.

Walley was a 2nd Team All-Big Ten corner as a senior and was projected to be an early Day 3 pick, but the Colts fell in love with him. As Chris Ballard the Colts GM says above, they love that Walley worked out with a cast on his wrist and did everything the right way. He will try to earn the starting nickel corner spot in training camp, and the sky is the limit.
Walley is the seventh Minnesota defensive back drafted since 2020.

Day Three of the NFL Draft kicks off Saturday morning where hopefully at least three other Gophers will hear their name called.
