We will look back as the last 25 years of Minnesota Gophers athletics
It’s summer. The 2024-25 Minnesota Golden Gophers athletics season is over after the NCAA track and Field Championships end this weekend. The fall sports season is two months away. So now is the perfect time for us to take a look back at some of the best moments from the first 25 years of the 21st Century of Minnesota Golden Gophers Athletics.
The Minnesota Gophers Top 25 of 2020-2025 is coming soon!
We will break down our rankings into five groups: Football, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Hockey, Women’s Sports, and Men’s Non-Rev sports.
In each group we will rank the Top 25 Minnesota Gopher athletes of the last 25 seasons. We will rank the Top 25 teams of the last 25 years. If possible—if our memories work well enough, the Top 25 games/ meets/ events of the last 25 years. The only rule is that we start considering the players career with the fall of 2000, and it goes through the spring of 2025. So for example. Brock Lesnar won his NCAA Championship in the Spring of 2000—-doesn’t count towards this list.
And of course we want your input. Do you agree with our lists? Are we idiots? Did we forgot someone? All are very possible as we undertake this large scale effort over the next 6-8 weeks.
The plan is to try and release a new post every few days. We will start next week with Gopher Hockey.
