According to ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello, Carr will either play at Texas or take his talents overseas and play professionally. Per the report, a decision from Carr could come this weekend.
Three of the four schools he initially had on his list – Louisville, Kansas and Kentucky – have been ruled out. He was supposed to visit Louisville earlier this week.
Carr was one of the lone bright spots for Minnesota this past year, averaging 19.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists for the Golden Gophers. But after failing to make the NCAA Tournament, Carr entered the transfer portal in March.
He earned All-Big Ten honors after the season.
Minnesota transfer Marcus Carr’s final two options are Texas or playing professionally overseas, sources told ESPN. The other schools in his final four — Louisville, Kentucky and Kansas — are out. Decision could come as soon as this weekend.

Texas Longhorns fans are no doubt excited to hear they’re finalists for Carr’s services.
New head coach Chris Beard didn’t have a whole lot of time to recruit for the 2021 class so he’s made optimal use of the transfer portal to fill his roster.
Thus far Beard has added four players to the Longhorns via the transfer portal. But bringing in a player like Carr would help solidify his lineup for his first year at the helm.
Will Marcus Carr be taking his talents to the Big 12 this coming season, or is he heading overseas?
