The Gophers start the summer with a splash
Head coach P.J. Fleck and co. hosted their annual “Summer Splash” recruiting event this past weekend. There are always a handful of verbal commitments coming out of the weekend and this year’s was no exception, with Pennsylvania edge rusher Anthony Charles the fifth to grab an oar.
Thank you to all the coaches that I’ve been blessed to learn from during this recruiting process. The genuine love and support you’ve shown throughout this recruiting process is something I’ll be forever grateful to have experienced.

Scouting Report
Charles posted an impressive junior season, recording 28 tackles, six sacks, 15 quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks. He stands out for his length, athleticism, and disruptive ability off the edge, though he will need to add size and strength to his frame to compete at the Power 4 level. His length and athleticism are evident on tape, but he currently wins more with speed and effort than with power or refined technique. Charles is considered a developmental player with notable upside, coveted for his motor and potential to grow into a productive college defender.
