The Vikings Have Released A Highly Acclaimed Joe Webb Documentary

May 9, 2025 by Zone Coverage

What is Joe Webb doing now?

The former do-everything sixth-round pick out of Alabama-Birmingham was a quarterback, receiver, and kick returner in his 10-year NFL career.

Webb immediately became a fan favorite when he stepped in for an injured Brett Favre against the Philadelphia Eagles as a rookie. He made three starts at quarterback in four seasons with Minnesota and also had over 100 yards rushing in his first two seasons.

He displayed supreme athleticism, but also an infectious personality. The Vikings Entertainment Network’s documentary The Joe Webb Experience follows Webb, who returned home to Birmingham and is coaching at P.D. Jackson-Olin High School.

Produced by Bryan Harper and Skip Kruger, written and directed by Cy Amundson, and narrated by Greg Coleman Jr., The Joe Webb Experience takes us from Webb’s playing days to finding his calling as a high school football coach. Webb built the program from the ground up, recruiting kids in the hallways and connecting them as a local star who reached the NFL.

Former Vikings linebacker Ben Leber called it one of the best stories the Vikings have produced.

Please watch this.
This is one of the best stories I’ve ever seen the @Vikings produce. @JoeWebb_14 is one of the many amazing men inside these locker rooms and I’m glad he’s getting his shine. https://t.co/KDE8HQQCY8

Paul Allen is the voice of the Vikings and also endorsed the documentary.

The documentary is a 15-minute window into one of the most interesting athletes ever to wear Purple and Gold, who has dedicated his life to impacting the lives of kids who grew up in his hometown. Watch it here.
