NFL/NCAA Football (1 Unit) 2-Team 6 Point Teaser (-110)
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cincinnati Bengals -1.5: 7:20 PM CT on NFL Network
It’s been a chilly welcome to the NFL for Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Trevor Lawrence, with 3 double-digit losses and an 0-3 ATS record as a result. Can the Cincinnati Bengals cover more than a touchdown against them? Probably, but I’m not going to risk it with a team that has its own share of issues.
I’ll certainly give the Bengals credit for a better defense than anyone expected, ranking 6th in points allowed per game and 8th in yards allowed. They should pad those defensive stats against Jacksonville, especially considering how loose the Jags have been with the football this season. The last time the Jaguars hit the road they lost by 16 to the lowly Texans, so I’ll trust the Bengals to essentially get the win at this teased number.
Virginia Cavaliers +11.5 @ Miami Hurricanes: 6:30 PM CT on ESPN
The Paris would probably tell me not to tease college football, but I’m doing it anyway. That’s because this is a great situation for the Virginia Cavaliers as an underdog, and being able to pad the points we’re getting is a big advantage. The Miami Hurricanes simply aren’t good in the favorite role against FBS opponents. The Canes are only 1-5 ATS in the last 6 of those spots, and just 7-13 the past 20 times with 9 outright losses. The underdog also owns this series, covering 12 of the 16 total meetings and 9 of the past 11 games.
Miami also finds itself in a tough spot without starting QB D’Eriq King for this game. I also don’t like the look of this team under Manny Diaz in general as there are too many dumb mistakes and sloppy play. Virginia is in need of a bounce back after two losses and I think they keep this one reasonably close. Being able to move this line through several key numbers creates a lot of value on a team that might well be a live dog.
No degenerates today.
Tiny Nick is 388-288 ATS (+92.6 Units) on his Locks since joining Zone Coverage.
Every day he will offer his Locks and Degenerate picks. Locks are the games he’s confident in. Degenerates are entertaining but riskier picks.
