Wednesday’s game ended in the 6th due to rain. The Twins lost 4-2. It’s been a rough stretch this June after a phenomenal May. The Minnesota Twins have fallen below .500 for the first time since May 9 when they were 19-20. Right now the Twins sit 10.5 games behind the 1. Detroit Tigers and 2. Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central.

The Reds right now are sticking it to the AL Central, taking two of three from both Detroit and Cleveland before this Twins series. The Reds also are looking for their second sweep in a row at home.

Game Notes

Both pitchers are 1-1 against the opposing team. Chris Paddack is 1-1 with a 4.09 ERA in two starts against the Reds. Nick Martinez is 1-1 with a 5.60 ERA in five starts versus Minnesota. For the Twins – Paddack is coming off a tough outing in his home state of Texas against the Rangers. He gave up eight earned runs in that competition on 12 hits in only four innings.

Byron Buxton’s stick remains hot after being out a couple games due to injury. He was day-to-day after getting hit in the Astros series, but in two games against the Reds he has hit two home runs.

Brooks Lee is on a 17-game hit streak, a career high for him.

The Twins need to do something to get a rally going. Go Twins!
