The Twins have a straight doubleheader today where they will try to extend their winning streak to 10.
It’s two-for-one Wednesday as the Twins will try to extend their winning streak to 10 with a couple of wins this afternoon. It’s a straight doubleheader, meaning game two will start 30 minutes after the first game ends.
Game One
Game one will be Bailey Ober versus Dean Kremer. Ober’s last start also came against Baltimore where he labored through five innings, but managed to only allow a single earned run. Ober’s start came on short notice after Joe Ryan had to pushed back due to a bout of the flu. Kremer also started that game and was significantly more effective, pitching seven innings while only allowing three hits and striking out eight Twins.
Game One Lineups
UPDATE: Twins win 6-3!!!! Shoutout to Christian Vazquez.
Game Two
Next up is Simeon Woods Richardson against Baltimore’s top pitching prospect Chayce McDermott. McDermott has only made two AAA starts this season due to injury, but was effective in both, striking out seven while only allowing three hits in eight innings.
Woods Richardson will try to give the Twins some length after they had to use five relievers in the first game of the doubleheader. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been SWR’s strong suit. He’s gone over five innings just twice in seven starts due to his inefficiency throwing strikes and finishing off batters. The Twins have Cole Sands, Justin Topa, Jorge Alcala, and 27th man Kody Funderburk all available. First baseman Ty France may also be unavailable after leaving game one with a foot injury.
