The Rangers blow the Twins out of the water in the first game of this series.
Things were going pretty good for Simeon Woods Richardson tonight, until the 4th inning. A rare Byron Buxton error followed by a walk, a double, and a two run single gave the Rangers a 3-0 lead.
The Twins did answer for 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Ty France and Royce Lewis, who has had a nice last week of games, drove in those runs.
In the 5th, the Rangers struck for 5 more runs. With 2 outs and a runner on 1st, the Rangers went single, wild pitch, single, double, (Justin Topa enters) double, and single to make it an 8-2 game.
A Ryan Jeffers RBI single in the 5th would cut the defecit to 5, but that’s as close as the Twins would get tonight.
Evan Carter blasted a two run homer in the 6th. Matt Wallner hit a solo homer in the 6th, that was pretty cool. Later, Jorge Alcala gave up 5 hits, a walk and 6 runs in the 8th inning, making it a 16-4 game.
Jonah Bride tossed a scoreless top of the 9th, ending the list of notable things that happened in this game.
