Can the purple keep the momentum?
The homestand will continue for the Minnesota Vikings this coming Sunday, as they’ll play the second of three straight at U.S. Bank Stadium when they play host to the Cleveland Browns in Week 4 NFL action.
Cleveland comes into this game with a record of 2-1 on the season. They dropped a close one in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead, but came back over the past couple of weeks with home victories over Houston and Chicago. On Sunday against the Bears, they held the Chicago offense to just 47 total yards in Justin Fields’ first-ever start in a 26-6 win.
We know what’s happened to the Vikings so far this year. After losing their first two games on the road by a combined total of four points, they turned things around against Seattle last Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. After getting down 17-7 early on, the purple finished the contest with 23 unanswered points and, despite the absence of star running back Dalvin Cook, got their first victory over the Seahawks since 2009 in a 30-17 triumph.
The Vikings look to have a tough task ahead of them against a Browns’ offense that features one of the best running back combos in football in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt and a defense that collected nine sacks last week. However, behind a vastly improved. . .at least for now. . .offensive line, the Vikings will have an opportunity to even their record at 2-2 on Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis.
Kickoff for this one is scheduled for 12:00 PM Central time and the game will be broadcast on CBS. This week, we’ll get the privilege of hearing the best play-by-play man in the NFL, Kevin Harlan, call this one along with Trent Green.
