Breaking: NFL Star Could Request Trade After Disastrous 2025 Season Start

September 7, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

After a rough Week 1 performance from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receiver Tyreek Hill could request a trade at some point during the 2025 regular season. The star receiver was shown visibly frustrated on the sidelines after the Dolphins were down 20-0. If this continues, trouble could be brewing in Miami as Tagovailoa probably had his worst performance ever in his career, while Daniel Jones was dicing the Dolphins’ defense. It wouldn’t be surprising if Hill demands a trade out of Miami, but that might be difficult since the Dolphins would probably want a lot in return for the receiver.

Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the former West Alabama product is coming off a rocky end to the 2024 campaign last year, teasing that he may request a trade right before this past offseason. However, it will have to take at least two first-round picks for the Dolphins to take any offer seriously. It’s still Week 1, but it’s never too early to talk about a possible scenario where Miami continues to underperform, especially with how head coach Mike McDaniel hasn’t been able to make much of an adjustment throughout the matchup. Hill should receive some interest during Week 7 at least if the Dolphins can’t find a way to garner a win and get this team back in the groove of things.

Breaking: NFL Star Tyreek Hill Could Request Trade After Disastrous 2025 Season Start – 4 Potential Suitors

Possible Fits

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are in dire need of a pass-catcher ever since they lost Rashee Rice due to suspension. However, it’s getting worse for Patrick Mahomes’ passing attack as the second-year receiver, Xavier Worthy, will miss some time with a shoulder injury. With Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and two unproven playmakers in Tyquan Thornton and Nikko Remigio, they must get someone to bring some star power to this offense. So why not bring back a familiar face like Hill, who might be pleading for the Chiefs to get him back?

The Chiefs struggled massively in their passing game, and Hill could bring it back to life in Kansas City as soon as he touches down.

Baltimore Ravens

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens are in the best spot offensively, even though they’re going to be without starting tight end Isaiah Likely. After signing DeAndre Hopkins, the passing offense will be at its best for back-to-back MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson. However, the Ravens have been prone to coming up short in postseason moments, so maybe taking a risk and trading for Hill might be what they need.

Los Angeles Chargers

Just like the Ravens and Chiefs, the Los Angeles Chargers might keep a close eye on Hill. It’s super obvious that the Chargers, Ravens and Chiefs will try to outbid each other if Hill becomes available. Quarterback Justin Herbert is coming off a phenomenal Week 1 performance, but it’s never a bad idea to get a star receiver like Hill to bolster the passing attack behind Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkey.

Minnesota Vikings

After losing Jordan Addison, the Minnesota Vikings did trade for Adam Thielen to bring him back, but how much gas does he truly have left in the tank? This isn’t to say Thielen won’t have his moments out there, but they could use one last star power to align with Justin Jefferson. Just imagine Hill and Jefferson on the same team, which would put JJ McCarthy in the best spot ever as an NFL quarterback.
