The good guys are up by two scores

We’ve made it through the first quarter of this NFC North matchup on Monday Night Football, and the Minnesota Vikings lead the Chicago Bears by a score of 10-0.

The Vikings won the coin toss and chose to defer to the second half, giving Caleb Williams and the Chicago offense the football first. The Bears found themselves with a 4th-and-1 from their own 39-yard line, and new head coach Thomas Brown chose to go for it. D’Andre Swift didn’t get the needed yardage, and the Vikings forced a quick turnover on downs.

Unfortunately, the Vikings couldn’t advance the ball very far and called on Will Reichard for a 52-yard field goal attempt. The rookie split the uprights, and the Vikings had a quick 3-0 lead less than three minutes into the game.

The Bears’ second drive pushed into Minnesota territory and were facing a third down and long, and Jonathan Greenard absolutely blasted Williams from behind, causing him to fumble it with Blake Cashman getting the recovery and taking it into Chicago territory.

The Vikings took advantage of the short field, getting into a goal-to-go situation with Sam Darnold finding Justin Jefferson for a 7-yard touchdown to make it 10-0 with five minutes left in the first quarter.

Jefferson gave a shoutout to Vikings’ legend Randy Moss after the touchdown pass, which was pretty awesome.

As we move to the second quarter of play, the Vikings are looking at a 1st-and-10 from their own 30-yard line after a brilliant catch-and-run from Aaron Jones to convert a 3rd-and-17.

We’ve made it through the first quarter on Monday Night Football, and the Vikings lead the Bears by a score of 10-0. Come on in and join us for the second quarter of play!
