The good guys still lead by double digits
They’re heading into the locker rooms at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium with the Minnesota Vikings leading the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football by a score of 13-0.
The Vikings started the quarter with the ball and they moved into Chicago territory and found themselves facing a 4th-and-3 from the Chicago 23-yard line. The Vikings elected to roll the dice and go for it, and Darnold was intercepted by Tyrique Stevenson to end the drive.
It looked like the Vikings had forced a three-and-out on the ensuing possession, but Trent Sherfield was called for running into the kicker on the punt attempt, and the penalty yardage was enough to give Chicago a first down. The Bears then found themselves with a 4th-and-1 from the Minnesota 29, and they elected to go for it again. Again, they turned to D’Andre Swift and, much like in the first quarter, he did not get the necessary yardage for another turnover on downs.
Minnesota then pushed down the field as time ran down in the half, and it looked like they had a shot at a touchdown, but they again had to call on Will Reichard. He connected from 31 yards out, and the Vikings extended their lead to 13-0 as they go into halftime.
The Vikings will get the ball coming out of the locker room at halftime, so hopefully they can extend their lead.
