Davante Adams Names His ‘Mt. Rushmore’ Of Wide Receivers

As one of the most highly regarded wide receivers in the NFL today, Davante Adams could finish his career ranked among the all-time greats. But who are those all-time greats in his eyes?

Appearing on The Rush Podcast with his Las Vegas Raiders teammate Maxx Crosby, Adams named his “Mt. Rushmore” of all-time great NFL wide receivers. His list consisted of four Hall of Famers who rank among the best of all-time:

  • Randy Moss
  • Jerry Rice
  • Calvin Johnson
  • Terrell Owens

It’s a list that a lot of people liked, though some might tweak with a name or two.

Rice, Owens and Moss all rank in the top four for receiving yards in NFL history, with Rice standing head and shoulders above all others with his 22,895 – a whopping 5,403 more than Larry Fitzgerald, who ranks second.

Johnson was one of the most dominant players at his or any position that anyone had ever seen. His ability to win contested catches in double and sometimes even triple coverage made him an NFL legend even though he doesn’t even rank in the top 25 for all-time receiving yards, touchdowns or receptions.

Owens and Moss dominated the late-90s and 2000s, getting the popcorn ready for fans with a combination of highlight reels and accolades that still stand up to the greats of today.

For Davante Adams, 2023 was a comparatively down year even though he still had 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns on a Las Vegas Raiders team that fired its head coach midway through the season and ranked in the bottom half of the league on offense.

Does Adams himself belong on the Mt. Rushmore of receivers?
