The good guys. . .trail?

They’re heading to the locker rooms at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the Minnesota Vikings find themselves in an unfamiliar position. . .trailing. They’re behind the Detroit Lions at the half by a score of 21-10.

The Lions started the quarter with the ball near midfield and pushed into Vikings territory within a couple of plays. A couple of plays later, Jahmyr Gibbs got the Lions into the scoring column with a 45-yard touchdown run where he wasn’t even touched, cutting the Minnesota lead to 10-7.

The Vikings got themselves to midfield on their next possession but were forced to punt it away, setting the Lions up inside their own 20-yard line. It took them just one play to get to midfield as Jared Goff connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown and was assisted by a roughing the passer penalty on Ivan Pace Jr. to put it at the 49. A few plays later, the Lions were in the end zone again as Goff and St. Brown connected for a 35-yard score. That meant that, for the first time since Week 1, the Vikings were trailing as they fell behind by a score of 14-10.

The implosion continued on the next drive, as Sam Darnold’s pass intended for Jordan Addison was terribly underthrown and picked off by Brian Branch to stall what started out as a promising Minnesota drive.

Detroit took advantage again, as Gibbs got his second touchdown of the day from 8 yards out to make it 21-10 going into halftime. That’s 21 straight points allowed by the Vikings and they need to get it together.

The good guys trail at halftime at home against their NFC North rivals by a score of 21-10. Can they finally get it together in the second half? Come join us and find out!
