Former Alabama Star Unfollowed J.J. McCarthy On Social Media After Rose Bowl Loss

Back in January, Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner and Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy were battling for a chance to make the national championship game. Fast forward to the present day, and they’re now teammates on the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings selected McCarthy with the 10th pick in this year’s draft. They traded up one spot to ensure they can take him.

Shortly after picking McCarthy, the Vikings traded up from pick No. 23 to pick No. 17 so they can take Turner.

Speaking to the media this Friday, Turner revealed that he unfollowed McCarthy on social media after Michigan defeated Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

“I was a little salty after that game on January 1,” Turner said. “I might have unfollowed him on Instagram after the game…but we teammates now.”

It’s safe to say that loss is water under the bridge for Turner.

The Vikings are hoping McCarthy and Turner make impact plays this fall. They certainly have the talent to do so.

McCarthy finished his Michigan career with 6,226 passing yards, 49 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Turner, on the other hand, had 120 total tackles, 32.5 tackles for loss and 22.5 sacks while at Alabama.
