It’s safe to say that Keyshawn Johnson should have prepared for today’s episode of Undisputed just a little bit more when he was getting ready to talk about the Minnesota Vikings.
During a segment where they were discussing whether Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was the top free agent quarterback available, Johnson took issue with the fact over Cousins’ postseason record, which is just 1-3. But he then made a rather noticeable gaffe:
“He’s 1-3 lifetime in the postseason and the only win is ‘the Miracle’ – the eyes closed against the New Orleans Saints. That’s the only one,” Johnson said.
There’s only one problem: Cousins wasn’t the quarterback for ‘The Minneapolis Miracle’ – the iconic game that saw the Vikings beat the Saints in the playoffs on a last-second touchdown score – that was Case Keenum.
As you might expect, fans quickly got on Keyshawn Johnson’s case for making such an egregious error:
“Clowns on a clown show,” one user replied.
“Come on man lol,” wrote another.
“Keenum DIGGS SIDELINE CAUGHT TD,” a third declared.
Case Keenum went 11-3 in his one year with the Vikings, leading them to the NFC Championship Game just one year after the team went 8-8 with Sam Bradford and Shaun Hill at the helm.
The Vikings decided to upgrade in the ensuing offseason and settled on Cousins, who has been their starter ever since.
The Minneapolis Miracle was the sole playoff win in Keenum’s otherwise unremarkable career. But it was a good one.
Cousins would get his first and thus far only postseason win in 2019, which also came against the New Orleans Saints – hence the confusion.
