Memories might flow for two former Vikings stars. Washington running back Adrian Peterson, who starred for the Vikings from 2007-16, makes his second return visit to U.S. Bank Stadium. And Washington quarterback Case Keenum makes his first trip back since Jan. 14, 2018 when he threw the “Minnesota Miracle” pass to Vikings teammate Stefon Diggs that beat New Orleans on the final play of a playoff game.

And then there’s Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, who played for Washington from 2012-17. He is coming off a three-game stretch in which he passed for 976 yards and 10 touchdowns — and helped secure three convincing victories for Minnesota.

The Vikings will be without star receiver Adam Thielen, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter of last Sunday’s 42-30 win at Detroit. Thielen will be replaced by rookie Bisi Johnson, who had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown again the Lions.

Bill Callahan is 1-1 as Washington’s interim coach. He took over when Jay Gruden was fired after a 0-5 start.
