The good guys have a bigger lead

They’re heading into the locker rooms for halftime in Nashville, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Tennessee Titans by a score of 16-3.

The Vikings had the ball to start the quarter and marched themselves down the field thanks to some nice plays by Sam Darnold to avoid sacks and get the ball down the field. The Vikings appeared to be stopped on a 4th-and-goal play from the 1-yard line, but the Titans were called for a questionable personal foul to give the Vikings another opportunity and they took advantage with a sneak by Darnold to put it into the end zone. That put the Vikings up 13-3 midway through the second quarter after John Parker Romo doinked the extra point off the right upright.

The Vikings forced a three-and-out on the Titans’ next possession and got a gift on the punt return as Brandon Powell was dragged down out of bounds to give the Vikings the ball close to their own 40-yard line. The Vikings then pushed down into the red zone but the drive stalled and they settled for a 40-yard field goal from Parker Romo to make it 16-3 with just under two minutes left in the half.

That’s how it ended, courtesy of Andrew Van Ginkel picking up sacks on consecutive plays to end the Titans’ last drive of the half. Minnesota will get the football first to start the second half so we’ll see if they can add on to their lead.

The Vikings lead the Titans at halftime in Nashville by a score of 16-3. Come on in and join us for the third quarter of play!
