NFL Insider Has Update On Justin Jefferson After Scary Fall At Practice

August 8, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Minnesota Vikings v Seattle Seahawks

Take a deep breath, Vikings fans. It doesn’t look like Justin Jefferson‘s shoulder injury isn’t as serious as some had originally feared.

Jefferson landed on his right side after making a catch and getting tackled during Friday’s practice. It took him a while to get back on his feet. The rising star was clearly in pain, holding the shoulder area in the process. He left practice, as a result.

Fans have been awaiting word on the extent of Jefferson’s apparent shoulder injury. We received such news Friday night. Jefferson suffered a sprained AC joint during Friday’s practice. He’s now listed as day-to-day, and should be back at practice at some point next week, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

This is a major sigh of relief for the Minnesota Vikings and their fans.

Tests came out as good as possible for Justin Jefferson, who is now considered day-to-day. All positive news. https://t.co/mvR04MKFjp

Justin Jefferson was sensational last year during his rookie season. He had 88 catches for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s already a bonafide superstar. Luckily, it doesn’t look like he’s going to miss much time after suffering a sprained AC joint on Friday.

Minnesota as a whole has dealt with several issues already at training camp. The Vikings were without most of their quarterbacks, including starter Kirk Cousins, because of COVID-19 protocols for the past week or so. Cousins and the other quarterbacks who were absent were able to return this weekend.

The Vikings begin their preseason slate on Aug. 14 against the Denver Broncos.
