Patriots Have Reportedly Reached Out to Vikings About Joint Practices

Are we getting a look at the preseason schedule already?

The National Football League won’t give us the 2025 schedule until sometime in May, but we may already be getting a small glimpse into a small part of the Minnesota Vikings’ preseason slate.

According to our friends over at Pats Pulpit, the New England Patriots have reportedly reached out to the Vikings about the possibility of joint practices this preseason. This almost certainly means that the Vikings will be seeing Mike Vrabel’s squad as one of their three preseason contests in 2025.

The Vikings had joint practices with the Cleveland Browns this past offseason, and it didn’t go terribly well for them. The team suffered a couple of injuries, including one that cost Jordan Addison the first three games of the regular season. However, joint practices are generally a good thing, in my opinion, because they come at the point of the preseason where guys from the same team are tired of hitting each other and are looking forward to hit someone else.

Because it’s an odd-numbered year, the Vikings will have nine regular season games on the road. That means that two of their three preseason games will be at U.S. Bank Stadium. Will one of them be against the Patriots, or will the Vikings make their trip to Foxborough their lone preseason road game?

Yes, it’s not the most earth-shattering news, but it’s always nice to get a little bit of insight into things before they become official. Thanks to our friends at Pats Pulpit for finding this story.
