The Minnesota Vikings entered Sunday unbeaten and fans knew Minnesota would be in for a fight against the Detroit Lions. Even though the Lions lost start Edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson for the season, Detroit still has Jared Goff and an elite offense.
Minnesota got out to a quick 10-0 lead, but the second quarter was destructive for the Vikings. Minnesota was outscored 21-0 in the second and it appeared the Vikings were in trouble. But Minnesota stormed back between Justin Jefferson’s touchdown catch and Ivan Pace Jr.’s scoop-and-score to take a 29-28 lead with just over two minutes left in the game. But it was too much time for Detroit.
The Lions methodically moved the ball down the field and kicked a game-winning 44-yard field goal with 15 seconds left on the clock. The Vikings would take their first loss of the season after losing 31-29 to Detroit.
