The announcement that everyone expected was made official after a thrilling Sunday Night Football game between the Commanders and Falcons. The final game of the NFL regular season, game 272 of the slate, would be the unofficial NFC North division title game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.
Detroit and Minnesota will play in front of a national audience on Sunday Night Football in Week 18 with everything on the line.
The Vikings had played in primetime to end the regular season in 2015 when they played the Packers on the road to clinch the NFC North title. The Lions are in uncharted territory, but they come into the matchup with momentum on their side thanks to a win over the Vikings earlier this year.
