There’s a Bit of a Line for Vikings/Steelers Tickets

Good luck if you’re trying to get in

We know that the NFL is trying to expand their reach with their International Series, and if today’s sale of tickets for the league’s first-ever game in Ireland are any indication, they’re doing a pretty darn good job of it.

Tickets for the Week 4 contest at Croke Park between the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers went on sale today at 12:00 PM local time in Ireland, and the Irish Independent is reporting that the queue to purchase tickets has swelled to over 600,000.

That’s not a typo. That’s the number six hundred thousand.

Six. . .hundred. . .thousand.

With an expected capacity of 76,000 fans at Croke Park, that queue would be enough to fill the stadium nearly eight times.

While this is classed as a Steelers home game, I would venture to guess that there will be plenty of purple in the stands in Dublin this September. This game, along with their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns in London, will be the third and fourth games the Vikings have played overseas in the past four seasons, and whether they’re serving as the home or the away team there are always a lot of Minnesota fans in the stands.

But if you were planning on making the trip across the pond for this one and you’re trying to get tickets, you should probably grab yourself a sandwich and a beverage, because you’ve got a bit of a wait ahead of you.
