2024 Vikes Views Poll Record: 5-0, keep pickings those Ws

The last time they played: It was a meaningless game for the Vikings at the end of last season and Detroit was on their way to their first ever NFCN crown.

Interesting Tidbits from the Vikings Weekly Release:

  • The Vikings have only trailed for 3:26 combined through their first 5 games. The next best team is the Chargers at 41:55.
  • The Vikings have 48 points in the 1st quarter of games this year, trailing only Tampa Bay (51).
  • The Vikings have a 63 point differential through 5 game, their highest since 2009 (66).
  • The Viking Defense ranks 1st in Interceptions (11), Interceptions/Attempt (4.8%), Points Scored and Opponent Passer Rating. They are 2nd in the NFL in Rushing Yards/Game (67.2), Yards/Rush (3.6), Takeaways (13) and QB Pressures (94).
  • The Vikings have 8 players that have an interception and at least two passes defensed. No other team has more than 5.
  • Justin Jefferson needs 139 yards today to have the most career receiving yards for the Vikings against the Lions. He trails Cris Carter and Rand Moss.

How I See it Playing Out

This is the game we love. This is going to be a fight to the end. TJ Hockenson and Dalton Risner are both going to stay on the sidelines one more game. I believe that is a wise move to not come back from injury against this squad. It will be emotional and the crowd will be into it. I believe the Viking defense will be up for the task. The Vikings were falling apart last year when the two teams met. The QB rotation of meh was in full force and the team was clearly going nowhere. I am curious to see a real Viking team against the newlook Lions. They’re confident. The biggest question for me is Sam Darnold and the offense. Sam hasn’t been playing that well the last few games. Hoping a week away gets him back to early season form. I’m going to pick our guys in purple, but I am not too confident.
