The Minnesota Vikings will wear their throwback jerseys for their Week One matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 10.
The jerseys are being called the “Vikings Classic” and feature purple jerseys with gold numbers. They also have white and gold pants.

These jerseys honor the Vikings from the 1960s and 70s since those teams wore a similar jersey at the time.
The helmet is also a bit different as it has a slightly older version of the horn along with a grey facemask.
Assuming all goes well with the debut of this jersey, there’s a good chance it returns at some point, whether it’s later this season or in a future season.
Kickoff for the Buccaneers-Vikings matchup will be at 1 p.m. ET.
